In late 2021, Payvend Innovation Fund Denmark, through the InnoBooster fund, applied for funding to develop a concept for booking charging stations.

The application covers public charging stations, as well as charging stations at municipalities, housing associations and companies that can save on investments in charging infrastructure by using a booking module.

It is expected that the booking module can help increase the utilization rate of charging stations, thereby avoiding unnecessary investments in charging infrastructure for charging operators, municipalities, housing associations and companies.

The biggest bonus, however, is for consumers with an electric car. With the booking module, they can reserve a charging station in advance and avoid arriving at an occupied charging station.

In the future, craftsmen and businesses in particular will need to avoid waiting for a charging station, which is why the booking module can save society and individual businesses a lot of "waiting money".

"We are very proud that Innovation Fund Denmark has made the assessment they have, and like us, can see the potential in the concept of booking charging stations" says Johnny Worum, Operations Manager at Payvend.
